Design me, Draw me, Ink me

The other day I went on a graphic image hunt on a mission to help out a friend who didn't ask for my help but got it unsolicited because I meddle like that, and in the process of that image hunt I came across this picture which made me *chuckle* because if I was to make an image to reflect the various dichotomous parts that are me, this would be as close as it comes.

Thank-you Google Images for guiding me to this picture and, most of all, thank you especially for falsely inflating my blog stats during this period of time when my blog lies quiet. There sure are a lot of people out there searching for "Walmart Bicycles" -- which, actually, kinda scares me more than a little bit.

And yes, my blog has been quiet. I am freakinunbelievablebusy right now and suffering a touch of SAD that January and February always seems to bring. I can't stand the thought of another cold day. I feel I will lose my mind. The good news is that I got my first sunburn today and my first sunglasses racoon eyes of the year. I've missed my racoon eyes. How I got these, I'll save for another post.

But speaking of images.....  I've mentioned before that 2011 is the year I turn:

40

Yes. It is true. In fact, we are just a little over two months away from the special day itself. And this January and February I have felt every second of my 40 years. Good thing, inside my head, I am still 18.

But I digress as always. To mark this momentous occasion, my plan is Tattoo #2... yes, if you didn't already know, I have another already and I'm always happy to show it off, assuming I am dressed appropriately to do so.

And, I need an artist and I'm slowly collecting referrals. So if you can suggest a good Tattoo artist. Please share.

Well what can I say, I'm a nurse and I'm programmed to "fix and help." Such is my own "insane" pathology right or wrong as that may be. Thanks for making me laugh thou "insane cyclist" ;-)

And DAMN I think too much too.

The plan is to have bike parts and bikes AND the tattoo... because I am all about the instant gratification. And behaving like a teenager......

Actually as an addendum to that, what frightens me most is that picture came up while using search terms like crazy insane nutty etc..... See... crazy is the new collective consciousness.

See - and I want to get rid of mine. But you're smarter than me - mine are all from when I was young and foolish. That said, I have a maple leaf on my hip that I hope one day to turn into an IM Canada tattoo. One day....

Talking to Mel has crossed my mind. I loved those coffee labels she did for Woodcock, did you see those Carly? I just wonder if you'll get a more enthusiastic tattooist if they are doing their own design but, yeah, I obviously am not going to let someone ink something I am only ho-hum on me and I have yet to scan pics of artists that make me think I love their work. I'm researching.... which is what I do best.

Yes, I hear you Jen. I wanted a tattoo when I was about 24 and couldn't for the life of me think of something to put on myself that I figured I could live with for the rest of my life -- so I didn't do it and I believe that was a wise choice. I got my first one when I was 34 and full on in mid life crisis so-to-speak.

Aarom Hemmersbach at Iron Lotus. Stand up dude. Beautiful artist. Just did a piece on my wife to cover up an old tired-looking piece with something much better. Very creative. He was a client of mine (singer for a band) and that's how I got to know him).

Good luck!

Thanks JP... and Iron Lotus is conveniently nice and close to me too. Will google and see if he's got some pics up.
